Avon Opal Top Coat – Nailwear Pro+ Berry Shimmer – MUA Pistachio Ice Cream ~ Swatch + Review

  • Avon Nailwear Pro+ Berry Shimmer with Avon Opal Top Coat

I’m not a huge fan of shimmer nail polishes, but I quite like Avon’s Nailwear Pro+ shade in Berry Shimmer. It’s a glossy and shimmery shade of Berry Pink. The formula is not too thin or thick, which allows for an easy application. The drying time is quick too. I was ready to apply the second coat, once I was done painting all 10 nails. With the Opal Top Coat, it lasted 7 days after which it started to chip.

MUAs shade in Pistachio Ice Cream is a lovely popping shade of mint. The formula is cream based with a glossy finish. I had to wait about a minute for the first coat to dry before I applied the second coat. 2 coats are enough to get a decent coverage, but as the formula is a bit thick, it makes for a streaky application. I am not too happy about this. But since it retails for only £1, you get your moneys worth.

I quite like this top coat, which is made up of holographic foil bits. Something different from the regular glitter top coats that are available. I have applied this top coat on a dark as well as light base, just to give you an idea of what it looks like. Personally, I prefer the effect on the dark shade, which in this case is the Nailwear Pro+ in Berry Shimmer. And, just like all glitter and/or holographic top coats, the Opal Top Coat is quite annoying to get off the nails.

So, which look do you like? And, have you tried any of these nail varnishes?
