Beauty Blogger Evening at LUSH and The Body Shop, Victoria Place

I recently attended a beauty blogger evening hosted by Victoria Place at Victoria Train Station, London. The evening was fun-filled and packed with workshops at LUSH Cosmetics and a make-up masterclass at The Body Shop, followed by a scrumptious dinner treat at Cafe Rouge.

We started the evening by meeting up at LUSH Cosmetics, which is situated in a corner on the main concourse at Victoria Train Station. We were greeted by Rebecca from Carousel PR and then made our way into the store.

LUSH-Cosmetics-buzzingtrendsAs always, I love to take in the various scents that fill the store. I know many who find the scents overpowering when they step inside, but not me; I can’t seem to get enough!

We were then introduced to Sanya who introduced their latest range of bath products targeting Halloween and Christmas. Everything was so bright and sparkly, it made me wish it was Christmas already.

Besides the Halloween and Christmas range, we were given tour around the store and got to try out some more of LUSH’s amazing products like the Snowman Jelly and the First Snow Glitter Powder, to name a few.

The Snowman Jelly felt all gooey and weird in the palm of my hand (in a nice way) leaving my hand smelling divine, after I held for about 5 seconds.

As you’ll see from the swatch below, the First Snow glitter powder is perfect for the holiday season. You don’t need to use much at all to get the resulted effect. It’s quite subtle and has a gorgeous smell too. Win Win!

Once we had a nose around and tried out the products that caught out attention, Sanya then gave us a demo on how to make bath bombs; after which each of us got a chance to get hands on and create our very own Big Blue bath bombs to take home.

Here’s a short clip I recorded to show you how bath bombs are made.

I have way too many favorites at LUSH, but the highlight for the evening was these adorable, reusable bubble bars called Drummers Drumming. Retailing for just £5.25 they see you through 8-10 baths. Brilliant wee bubble bars, aren’t they!

I was so tempted to draw a smiley face on it! ;o)

Before we left LUSH, we each got a goody bag to take home, which included the Big Blue bath bomb we got to make.

We then made our way to The Body Shop, which is on the top floor (above the LUSH store) at Victoria Place. The Body Shop recently relaunched its nail polish collection, part of the Color Crush range in 24 feel good shades.

We were introduced to a few of The Body Shop’s  best selling products; The Drops of Youth Concentrate and The Drops of Youth Eye Concentrate. I tried the Drops of Youth Eye Concentrate on the back of my hand and my initial feedback is that it’s non-sticky, with a quick absorption rate and my skin felt taut within seconds of it drying. But the actual results will only be revealed once used for a fairly decent amount of time. We did receive sample pots in our goody bags, but that’s not enough for me to justify a full product review. So I guess you’ll have to give it a try if you’d like to find out more.

We then moved on to the make-up masterclass for which I had initially offered to be a part of the makeover, but then I decided to opt-in for a skin consultation instead. So, here we have Natasha getting her makeover (a smokey eye tutorial).

After the makeup masterclass, we made our way to our final stop – Cafe Rouge. Here we were treated to mouth-watering starters and a glass of champagne each. We then ordered our main course and since I’m on a dairy-free diet, my options were limited as most of the items on the menu had some form of dairy or the other as an ingredient. So my choice for the evening was a spicy sausage baguette with Dijon mustard and a side of chips. It was quite a lot to go through, but I got there in the end. Overall, the food was great and the staff were friendly, and so was their service.

It was a fantastic beauty blogger event with a huge thank you going out to Rebecca from Biteable Beauty and Rebecca from Carousel PR. Not forgetting Victoria Place for hosting the event.

And lastly, here’s a video I uploaded on YouTube as there was no way I could include so many pictures in this blog post. And omitting them completely wouldn’t be fair, as there’s still so much more I’d like to share with you on the Beauty Blogger Event.
